BTS taking Flay Lay Photos
Photographing products is just one of the things I love to do. Planning and putting together a range of products for a series of flat lay photographs takes creativity and working with a return customer to create a vision for their website, catalogue or seasonal campaign is always fun.
I’ve had the pleasure of working Sam Lehmann from The Iconic Group to create a series of flat lay photos for a Christmas campaign to add to other photos we had taken earlier in the year. Using the same background allowed for the photos to look consistent from one shoot to the next.
Sam sells premium corporate gift boxes and can customise a range of products to suit the client. But she also wants to show potential clients what they can have inside each box. We both agreed that the best way to show that was through flat lay photography.
Sam pulled together stories of products and we both worked to lay them out in the best way to maximise the square space. Some photos didn’t require much space but some photos had quite a few products that needed to be included in the shot. Styling the products is one of my favourite things to do. Everything should be in the photo for a reason and making the products work together can sometimes be challenging. But you will see on Sam’s website, that we have created a group of shots that not only represent the corporate market Sam is looking at, but they also clearly show what the client will receive in each box. And there are options to add extra things if required.
When photographing products, I can come to you and set up my studio in a space at your office or home, or you can send me the products you want photographed. I will then take the photos in my home studio and send the products back to you return mail or courier.
